Small Boy

A blue trickle through the open glass,
Rustling baskets above hilltop grass.
Heavy feet beat out the soft melody,
With joyful screams for hide-n-seek.

Endless twirls on that head of yours,
My cub of laughter, hums, and roars.
Breath of cinnamon and almond milk,
Mischief in those eyes of black silk.

Milk chocolate curves around your tiny frame,
My ray of yellow when the window pounds of rain.
Fading dimples around your elbows and hands,
But forever my small boy no matter how great a man.
